Wow. It seems like Tobirama is the real motive behind Madara’s hatred. If he wasn’t so prejudice and learned to accept them then Madara probably wouldn’t have fallen so far. I always thought it was the disagreements between Madara and Hashirama that started the split…instead it was the hatred felt between Madara and Tobirama. Interesting chapter.
March 27th, 2013 at 8:59 am
Tobimara is to blame for the whole thing. It appears to be his fault that Madara betrayed the leaf and it was his fault for the coupe thing that the uchiha planned.
March 27th, 2013 at 9:14 am
tobimari is the cause of everything because madara is suppose to be second hokage and i think the stone showed madara what to do if there is dispute between senji and his clan. What madara told the 1st about what is going to happen if tobimari becomes hokage happened later in the future.if the first heard what is brother after he died,he might kill tobimari because he is the cause of the present war

Alright, this chapter proves it! Madara is not evil at all! Allow me to expain this.
Although the ending of this chapter might imply differently, the hint to this was given in the beginning. Madara knew that in time Hashirama would be faced with the choice between Madara and Tobirama (again) for the sake of the Village. To ease this burden, Madara decides for Hashirama by going renegade. Also, this provides him a motive for the infinite Tsukiyomi. He wants to use the jutsu so that people will be able to live in peace, no matter their heritage. Madara and Hashirama were discussing the formation of the Village to be reality instead of a dream. Yet Madara saw it coming that his Clan would be the scapegoat for things on a short notice. By leaving the Village the way he did, he does the same thing Itachi did: trade his dignity for hatred, bu protecting his Clan and Village from the shadows and keeping Hashirama about it in the dark. What do you guys think?
March 27th, 2013 at 9:53 am
@mystic poss I think u are reading to much into it. Personally I feel madara… Ok it’s not that he is evil he just goes against who kishimoto wants us to be the protagonist in all this. I mean think about madara hatred for the leaf (specifically tobirama) is honestly justifiable but he will never be viewed as a bad guy because he goes along with the protagonist.

Doess sauske dad and madara ever meet? Since his dad was the head of the conspiracy .. and I for one don’t like the second anymore .. and I like uchihas more bc they are the under dogs but tgey still get crapped on
March 27th, 2013 at 10:45 am
@5
I don’t agree with u on this point::
– Madara himself never stated he has a grudge against the Leaf. That was Obito impersonating him, without having factual knowledge on Madara’s past. Obito also said that Madara stole Izuna’s eyes out of desperation, while we know now that he gave up his eyes willingly since he was fatally wounded. The only thing the real Madara said about this was during the fight with the 5 Kage. To Tsunade: “I will kill you because you are Hashirama’s descendant, for I hate the Senju”.
All information we have about Madara are things Obito has been telling Sasuke and Naruto. If anyone comes close to revealing Madara’s true intentions, it will be Hashirama with his story. And I hope for a re-encounter between the two of them during this war.
Now if you paid close attention to this chapter, who was the one who came up with the name: Hidden Village behind the Leaf? It was Madara. In combination with the saying: “Why destroy something you help built?”, I believe Madara’s intentions toward the Leaf are the same as Itachi’s.
March 27th, 2013 at 10:56 am
@ 4 & 5
I like both ideas but i really think Madara is just a scorned weak ninja. Breath for a minute let me explain. lol. It is not just Tobirama it is everything he represents. He killed his last brother and his dying words protect the clan. Now even the clan thinks him weak. But the biggest issue of all Hashirama was able to protect his brother and madara was not. thats what i got from this mainly page 18 and 19.
March 27th, 2013 at 10:57 am
I don’t see how this story will change sauske decision it actually make him try to kill the second
March 27th, 2013 at 11:13 am
Interesting. Well, I don’t yet see how this gets us to why Orochimaru attached the village.
March 27th, 2013 at 12:11 pm
I’ll continue staying out of the discussions until the flashbacks are over but. Congrats with your birthday NarutoBoy18. Cheers.

@7 Well like i said “hatred for the leaf (specifically tobirama)” In my own personal view its like sasuke hatred. A hatred towards to elites that eventually spreads for hatred of the entire place. They see the village as part of them and even him they kill them so long as their legacy lives on ie the village they see them as still being around. But at this point in the flash back i dont think madara wants to destory the leaf i feel that will come after he has time to let his hatred fester. Just like with sasuke initially he only wanted to kill danzo and the other 2 elders but as time went on he wanted to destory the entire leaf. also @kross Thanks it was a hell of a bday 😉
March 27th, 2013 at 2:14 pm
Wow Tobirama was the cause of Madara’s hatred all right… all thats left to explain is how Madara got the rinnegan and the fight between the first hokage and him.
March 27th, 2013 at 2:15 pm
Started…
March 27th, 2013 at 4:27 pm
I would actually prefer if the 4ths flashback was this long instead. I love that guy xD
March 27th, 2013 at 5:33 pm
I kinda agree with tobirama gotta listen to the people before you make big decisions esp when dealing with a potentially mentally ill clan. Somebody must had some strong azz eyes to be able to predict everything madara read via tablet. If it was someone with eyes I wonder who?
March 27th, 2013 at 8:11 pm
@9 ya im kind of waiting for that asasuke is just gonna be like YOU MOTHER F****** and just charge him but will be stopped by oro or someone. Also am i the only one who is wondering if madara is just gonna bust through and be like i thought i sensed u.
March 27th, 2013 at 8:16 pm
I have a thought, maybe it wasnt tobirama specifically, think of when madara said that hashirama has shown him his “guts” i think what he was trying to say that he can understand his true nature but as for tobirama ( possibly a symbol for prejudice and mistrust) madara is unable to take into account for such feelings, i think what im trying to get at is that this is what made him see how he could achieve true peace, he knows that he is only able to understand hashirama because of their experiences together but the world dosent have that connection like they do so thats where project tsykuyomi comes in. Just a thought correct me if im wrong, and also happy belated birthday Narutoboy!
March 28th, 2013 at 1:23 pm
Hanzo I think your right because hashirama told sasuke that itachi was a better shinobi than him. Itachi killed his own clan to prevent more hate and bloodshed but hashirama couldn’t do it knowing his brother hated them.
March 28th, 2013 at 4:48 pm
@19 thanks for the bday wishes. Also i just wanna throw this out there because me and my friend were having a arguement over this. Who do u think would win in a fight sasuke with his EMS and susano or killer bee. I say sasuke (yes i know he nearly died 3 times if not for taka help but now things are different) he would have susanoo which is a big game changer. But what do u guys think?
March 28th, 2013 at 9:34 pm
Man tobirama messed things up and also I probably would have killed madara if I were Hashirama. I mean that hatred can’t just go away and it’s naive thinking you can live in harmony with an untrusting brother who killed the brother of your former enemy/ new ally. 5/5 but I hated how things escalated quickly like all of sudden madara’s like “f*** this village I’ll be back with vengeance” like where did that come from XD anyways nice chap 😀
March 28th, 2013 at 11:59 pm
@14 – as for Madara’s Rinnegan: in ch.560, page 14-15 it says that Rinnegan it what happens when you go beyond Sharingan, which I believe means that it is simply the next level of development, and that’s what is said (or at least part of what is said) on that secret Uchiha tablet. Basically, there Sharingan, then Mangekyou Sharingan, then Mugen Mangeyou Sharingan, and then for the truely skilled Uchiha, it can then be developed into Rinnegan. If there are particular prerequisites, like how you advance through the other stages by killing your best friend and taking the eyes of your brother, I’m not sure, but I believe that it means that any Uchiha that progress to Madara’s level can potentially develop the Rinnegan – as the Uchiha are descended from the Rikudou sennin, after all, and I believe that this is one of the great secrets of the Uchiha that have been mentioned.
March 29th, 2013 at 12:12 pm
I can see tobirama’s point of view but it seems like he never gave Madara a fair chance. I would like to hear from the real Madara’s point of view. I think the way Hashirama wanted to do things with having Madara be the 2nd hokage was a good idea. He needed something to believe in and this village was all he had left. That would have given him a purpose. Madara did call it when he predicted what would happen to the Uchiha under Tobirama’s rule. Tobirama is a big cause of all that is going on today. Hashirama should have killed him would have fixed everything.
March 29th, 2013 at 7:29 pm
@23/Eudaimonist
It’s already been confirmed that Madara only obtained the Rinnegan because he injected some of Hasirama’s DNA into himself. And he only activated the Rinnegan shortly before his death, in which it took Madara a heck of a long-time to do. The same goes for Obito and his ability to use the Rinnegan as well, via Hasirama’s DNA.
March 29th, 2013 at 8:14 pm
@25 while im not disagreeing with u dont forget obito didnt unlock his rinnegan he stole it from nagatos corpse. So he didnt unlock it tech only madara unlocked but yes as u said after a really long time after injecting the firsts dna into him. But u know what now im starting to wonder? why didnt madara just make a come back after the first died? why not come back once the only person alive that could ever match him died i mean the first didnt exactly have a long rein.
March 29th, 2013 at 11:15 pm
@25 – You’re right, I remember that now, but I guess since that still have Hashirama’s cells in the form of white Zetsu, other Uchiha could probably do it as well, though obviously they’d have to be extremely strong to manage it still and also need the mugen mangekyou (I would assume)
Also, I was thinking when I went back to read that chapter that it says that the Doujutsu that the Rikudou sennin’s kid had EVOLVED into the sharingan, but wasn’t actually it. I’d be interested to see what that Kekkei Genkai was like (very similar to the sharigan probably, but it still must be different)
March 31st, 2013 at 9:34 pm
@Narutoboy18
Now this is just my theory, I honestly think that Hashirama sealed Madara’s powers away from him. I mean it doesn’t make sense just like you said that Madara couldn’t just come back and wreck havoc on everyone. Itachi & Obito both said that Madara was a shell of his former self after the battle with Hashirama, so that’s my only theory. Besides as we have seen Madara’s power was just about gone when Obito ran into him, and also the fact that he was only living because of the Juubi’s chakra. But thats just my theory, what do you think?
April 1st, 2013 at 2:05 am
@K-dash02
Madara had the creation jutsu’s so he could not be that weak.
April 1st, 2013 at 4:00 am
@Korss
If Madara had the creation jutsu, please explain why he still died. The only reason why Madara was alive was because he was using the Juubi’s chakra, Madara was literally on life support. He instantly died after he detached himself from the Juubi, that shows right there that he was weak. If he had the creation jutsu he could have easily come back and get his revenge, but he couldn’t. Just as Itachi & Obito both said Madara was a shell of his former self which means he was not the same as he was before the fight with Hashirama.
April 1st, 2013 at 1:07 pm
@28 im not exactly sure how the first would be able to seal away the power. My best guess would be that maybe the first did so much damage he knew that a shinobi like the second would be able to beat him and later the third. That or maybe he wanted to grow accostmed to the first justu and by the time he was able to master it his skills had decline(due to age) to the point the next gen had surrpassed him. These are just speculation though.
April 1st, 2013 at 3:36 pm
Supporting nb18 idea maybe mito helped with sealing madaras power, she was an uzumaki, sealing techinque genius, and she was there in wat i assume is final battle between madara and hashirama, and she sealed kurama in side herself….i just saying
April 1st, 2013 at 6:29 pm
@Lonewolf
Thanks for bringing that up, but I was more in the direction of Mito teaching Hashirama sealing techniques just like Kushina taught Minato.
April 3rd, 2013 at 1:08 am
Sorry got you mixed up with nb18, his was last i read before typing.
April 3rd, 2013 at 7:43 am
@K-Dash02 new chapter is up. I don’t think anything was sealed besides Kurama
